  PEER MEDIATION

Community Care Services
Our Peer Mediation Program is committed to
students helping students resolve disputes
peacefully. The student mediators complete a
comprehensive twenty-two hour training conducted
by our Violence Prevention Coordinator in the skills
of mediation—listening, questioning and
facilitating. This empowering model provides students with the skills necessary to help their peers
resolve problems that can quickly escalate to
violence. Mediation is voluntary, neutral and
confidential. The student mediators listen to all
sides of the dispute and help parties to arrive at a
mutually acceptable resolution.
